Night out with Reggie

We went to the ISU Fan Fair last week for the first time. There were lots of activities for the kids and they had a great time. They got to play in bouncy houses, got Reggie tattoos, visited with Reggie (only Jacob got close enough for a picture), and we ended the time eating pizza in a tent while a quick rain shower moved in. Afterwards, we went to get ice cream cones. It was Bailey's first! They got huge cones and ate all of them! It was a great summer night.

Chicago Visit

I took the kids up to Chicago for a day last week to hang out with my sister. We went to Navy Pier first and rode the ferris wheel, looked at pirate ships, had balloon swords made by a pirate, and had lunch. Afterwards, we went to the beach along Lake Michigan and had a blast. It was the kids' first trip to a beach and they LOVED it! Jacob was obsessed with the water while Bailey had a ball playing in the sand. I think she could have sat there for hours!! I've never seen her so focused. We will definitely be making more trips to the beach in the future! Before we drove back home, we ate pizza at Sharla's house and got the kids bathed and in their pjs so they could go straight to bed when we got home. It was a great day!!

Here are the pictures from our day.

County Fair 2011

We took the kids to our county fair a few weeks ago and had a good time. Below are pictures from our adventures. The video at the bottom of this post is of a moment when I spotted Jacob dancing on his picnic table seat during dinner. It took me a moment to realize what he was doing.... dancing with his shadow!

Dan's B-day Weekend

We celebrated Dan's birthday at the end of July in a few low-key ways. Dan was out of town for work that week, so the kids and I were able to make a cake and surprise him with it. Well, until Jacob threw a fit the morning of his birthday saying that he couldn't go to school until we ate the birthday cake! The day after his birthday, I took Bailey down to Decatur to visit with family and Dan took Jacob to the new Cars movie. Jacob lasted an hour before he asked to leave the movie. Dan basically said it did not go well, so it will be awhile before we try that again!! On Sunday we had our parents over for dinner. The kids loved having them over in a relaxed setting to just play. The pictures below are from the various activities.
